I’m making a list of things I need to buy before my baby is born in February so that I can allocate what I will buy with each paycheck. I already have toys and probably enough clothes to start out with, but really nothing else. This is a list of things that I think I will need, but I don’t know if I have it all. Any input? Unfortunately, there will be nothing like a baby shower, so this is all on me and hubby~ any input you have would be appreciated!
Initial diaper supply and supplies (diaper genie, wipes, powder,
changing mat, and rash cream)
receiving blankets (how many?)
mobile (thinking of making one)
baby bath and supplies (shampoo, baby soap, cloths, baby towel?)
Any other necessities?
PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE/LINKS!!!
I am not an experienced hair or makeup person, but I need to do my own for a photo shoot cuz I live in Japan and they don’t know how to do hair and makeup on a white girl. All my experiences with hair and makeup here make me feel like I’m stepping out of a glam rock video.
It’s for a “wedding pictures” shoot. We never had a wedding, but mother in law insists we have wedding pictures and now that I’m pregnant, she wants us to do it before I’m fat.
I already have no choice over the dress - it’s a rental that I won’t even get to see till the day of. I’m sure I won’t fit because my boobs are huge and I have a curvy shape - definitely not the “standard” size here. But I WILL NOT let them take over my hair or makeup, too.
For hair, I would LOVE a simple up-do. For makeup, something simple, natural, and pretty. I don’t like lots of makeup and daily I just use a little bit to cover my acne and some mascara because my foundation dusts onto my eyelashes. So, I don’t want anything too dramatic.
Any advice and/or links to tutorials (video or picture) would be VERY MUCH appreciated. Thank you!!!
I’m looking for some good indoor training I can do on my upper thighs and upper arms without equipment. The most I have here is 2 5-pound weights and your average household items, but anything beyond that I don’t have and don’t really have extra money to put toward it at the time.
It’s really hot and humid right now and I’m pregnant (so, nothing that I have to rely too much on unassisted balance nor anything that requires me to lie on my stomach, please) so I’m looking to tone those areas while staying indoors.
I go on walks to get some cardio in and that plus my daily activities seems to keep the rest of my body in check, but I’ve always had problems with my upper arms and upper thighs. I don’t think I’m really working those muscles and I’d like to get them stronger than they are now (especially before I have to start carrying around baby and all that comes with it!).
So, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
I over-did it with working out yesterday, even though it was a shorter one, and so I’m very sore in my calves and abdomen. That means I can’t do the exercises I wanted to do today. So, instead I did some arm work. It’s better than nothing. I’ve also been looking up mini workouts. Vacation starts after I get off work on Valentine’s Day. I have to work on getting my license and I will also be going to America for 10 days.
But being at home the rest of the time means I’ll work on projects and that leads to me not wanting to do anything else - especially not for a one or two hour block. So, I am looking for mini-workouts. Things that can burn about 100 calories in 10-20 minutes. I figure that I can work a few of those in everyday even when I’m on my vacation. I’d prefer them to be indoor as well since it’s rather freezing here these days D:
Anyway, was okay on my calories today despite realizing my bento was about 8-900 calories in and of itself. I guess that’s what I get for having fried rice AND tamagoyaki with cheese. It meant a smaller dinner, but that’s okay because my lunch kept me full.
Taka’s got a four-day weekend starting tomorrow, which means his food will influence my food this weekend. I need to make sure I eat smaller portions. I MUST keep vigil about that. I WILL stay on track. If I stayed on track from when I first started last year, I’d be at my goal by now. I need to not get distracted.
Speaking of which, he just came home with a bag of sweets. OH MY boys don’t know that the sweets they buy don’t have magical non-calories :O
It’s that time of year that everyone puts up their resolutions. I don’t really do resolutions, but I DO have some goals for this year:
1 - Study more Japanese (I want to get N3 on the new system! I got N3 on the old system back in 2007)
2 - Get my Japanese driver’s license (my international one expires at the end of March)
3 - Try (and learn to to cook) many more foods (armed with cookbooks!!!)
4 - Keep a regular blog about cooking (maybe Vlog once in a while)
5 - Pay off my credit cards (6k to go)
6 - Get something else published or at least have something ready for publication. This includes self-publishing on Etsy or as an e-book. Although it was small, getting published in that calendar was a good goal pusher!)
7 - Keep losing weight. My goal is to have a weight in the 135-145 range. I am currently at 169 (or, I was before I left for Xmas… I haven’t gotten back on a scale yet, but even if I gained weight it couldn’t be more than a couple pounds). I was 204 when I got to Japan and most of my weight loss thus far has been simply due to lifestyle changes and not concentrated effort, so I am confident that I can get at least the next 24 out of my body for a healthier me :)
8 - Learn a new skill. I don’t know what, but I want to grow every year and not just expanding on what I already know.
I always have goals because I feel lost without them. Anyone share some of the same goals as me or have experience/advice to give?
